What is a push camera inspection?
A push camera is a small self-leveling CCTV camera on a semi-rigid push rod. The operator feeds it by hand into a cleanout, drain, culvert or tile line and records the inside of the pipe, so you see roots, breaks, sags and blockages without digging.
When do I need a push camera instead of a crawler?
Push cameras are for smaller lines and places a crawler cannot go: building drains, service lines from a cleanout, drain tile, short storm leads and lines with tight bends. Mainlines from 6 to 120 inches are televised with a crawler, and services can also be inspected from the main with a lateral launch camera.
Can you find where the line runs?
Yes. The camera head carries a locating sonde. We trace it from above, mark the location and depth on the ground, and note it in the report, so you know exactly where to dig if a repair is needed.
Do you inspect agricultural drain tile?
Yes. We televise field tile and outlets for farms, drainage contractors and counties, find crushed tile, root plugs, silt and blowouts, and locate the problem from above so it can be fixed in one hole.
Will you clean the line first?
When it needs it. A line full of grease, silt or roots hides its defects. Our jetting crews can clean ahead of the camera so the video shows the pipe, not the debris.
What do I get after the inspection?
Recorded video with footage readouts, still images of the problems we find, and the locate marks on the ground. Reports and video can be shared through POSM Central.
